ELBOW, the new work choreographed by Demetrius Klein in collaboration with the company’s other nine dancers will be shown in the beautiful space affectionately called the Great Big Room at Memorial Presbyterian Church. The dancers will not be alone. They will dance surrounded by the prints of internationally celebrated artist Sadao Watanabe. His prints are iconic to the Japanese folk art movement of the 50’s and 60’s. They have graced the walls of the Vatican Museum, the British Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo and the White House. Now they are displayed right here in West Palm Beach! Don’t miss the chance to see the work of these two acclaimed artists: Klein and Watanabe colliding for two nights only.
The North entrance doors will open at 7pm for art viewing and the dance performance will begin at 8pm. Tickets are $20, and $10 for students and seniors. Call 561-758-8726 to make reservations.
Memorial Presbyterian Church is located at 1300 S. Olive Avenue in West Palm Beach. The Watanabe exhibition continues throughout the month of December and is free of charge. The hours are weekdays 9am to 4pm and Sundays 9am to noon. Call 561-832-3631 for more information.
